Gospel Art!

At Epiphany we would open our doors at 6:00 am every Sunday. That was a half-hour after the shelters closed and folks would make their way to us each week. Once inside, and with a hot cup of coffee, everyone was able to find a small group. We had AA meetings, pick-up choir for the 8:00 service, pews to catch up with friends or grab a little extra shut-eye before worship, Bible Study, and Gospel Art.

Gospel Art was facilitated by volunteers who would read aloud the lessons for the upcoming Sunday service. After a brief discussion of where folks felt the Holy Spirit, everyone was invited to express their spirit via art. Some painted, some drew, some sang, some prayed.

After we curated a nice collection, there was an art show for the downtown neighbors. We didn’t sell the art but were able to display the hearts and souls of our artists for everyone to see. #gratefulhearts
